A Glorious Sun-Shiny Day in Denver
Could not ask for a better day. Went to a 12-step meeting first thing at 6am. These meetings always set the tone for me to have a great day. Makes me more present and feeling connected to the world.
Then I went to coffee with an old mentor who was an executive director to an organization I hold near and dear to my heart. Then my neighbor who has been helping take out my trash, I bought him lunch. We hung out for a short bit.
Went back to my laptop and verified the corrections in the interior design of my book which is due out in June 2024. After this particular process, it is off to the printers! Then I can order author’s copies and sell and sign them and give them as gifts to a select few that have truly inspired me. Those folks include AMBIKA WAUTERS—who I’ve been FB friends with for years. She wrote Chakras and their Archetypes and other books on Chakras including The Book of Chakras. She is a very loving and caring person. I’m comping her a copy!
Another copy is going to BOB GOFF. He is a NY Times bestselling author, devout Christian, inspirer-er and overall good peep. I don’t know him personally really—but—he posted his phone number in the back of his book DISTRACTED and I called it. We’ve had several very brief convos. The first convo he helped me tremendously with some writers block by telling me, “Just write about all the animals in the zoo! You know, the monkeys and the lions and the elephants. You know how to do that, Lisa Jo! You’re going to do great.”
Another peep is PETER SHANKMAN who wrote FASTER THAN NORMAL, a book about the superpowers of ADHD. He’s written a handful of other books. I always looked up to this person although I always seemed extremely nervous in his presence. He helps a lot of people. A LOT. I admire him and he was generous with his time on my birthday one year when he let me interview him RE: his own book writing process.
Another is DAVE KERPEN, NY Times Bestselling author. His book LIKEABLE SOCIAL MEDIA is brilliant! Makes social media spots a warm and friendly spot.
JEFFREY HAYZLETT wrote an endorsement for my book and is also a NY-Times Bestselling author. He’s a cowboy and TV host in the business world. He wrote this great book called THE HERO FACTOR which I loved. I belonged to his C-Suite Network, which I highly recommend! It’s where met one of my mentors. Jeff is a great guy!
There is a small handful of others. My best girlfriend Minda S. in Florida. She’s in my inner circle for sure. We enlighten each other spiritually and otherwise. Just such great and profound and fun conversations always!
